Queer Death Salon – Sharing Our Legacies

Free – $30We are experiencing a time of repression in our expression. The anti-trans and anti-queer actions in the USA are devastating. We are seeing the ripple effects here in Canada and elsewhere. Our stories deserve to be told. Our stories deserve to be preserved.
We will be joined by Jeffrey Canton, an award-winning performer and instructor who has captivated audiences with his storytelling for over 30 years. A long-time member of the LGBTQ2S+ storytelling collective “Queers in Your Ears,” Jeffrey has also mentored performers of all ages. He has developed several innovative workshops for Storytelling Toronto and his courses “Keeping Our Stories Alive,” “Telling My Queer Story” and “Voices Seldom Heard,” are the first in Canada to focus on LGBTQ2S+ storytelling.
Participants will be led through a creative process designed to help us understand and share our legacies, and if desired, pre-write our own obituaries.
