National Day of Housing – Tell The Mayor to Stop Renovictions!

November 22 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

ACORN members across the country are taking a stand during the National Day of Housing, and we need YOU to be part of it!
4 out of the 5 largest cities in Ontario have anti-displacement policies in place that protect tenants, but Ottawa doesn’t have ANYTHING!
That’s why ACORN members in Ottawa will be going to Mayor Mark Sutcliffe’s office to deliver testimonies from tenants who have previously been or are currently being renovicted. With the vote on next steps for a renoviction bylaw coming soon, we need to put pressure on the Mayor and city council to make sure they follow through on the bylaw and protect tenants from being displaced!
Have you been evicted for renovations or demolition? Call us so we can add your testimony to the pile!
WHEN: Fri, Nov 22nd at 12:00PM
WHERE: Meet at the Human Rights Monument (220 Elgin St)
Check out what other ACORN offices across the country have planned here: https://acorncanada.org/…/expand-tenant-rights-and…/
See you soon!
