Colloquium: “The Native and the Refugee” by Matt Peterson

The Department of Sociology and Anthropology’s Colloquium Committee is pleased to invite you to the first event of this academic year’s colloquium series, featuring documentary filmmaker and artist Matt Peterson. He will present on his research from the multimedia project, “The Native and the Refugee”, which investigates and juxtaposes the struggles, communities, and spaces of the Palestinian refugee camp and the American Indian reservation.

Bio: Matt Peterson is a filmmaker and organizer at Woodbine, an experimental space in New York City. He directed the documentary Scenes from a Revolt Sustained (2015) and co-edited the books In the Name of the People (2018) and The Reservoir (2022).
