Calling for solidarity with kanien’kehá:ka kahnistensera (Mohawk Mothers)

On Tuesday, October 10th the Kanien’kehá:ka Kahnistensera (Mohawk Mothers) will submit both conventional legal documents and traditional Kanien’kehá:ka legal documents to the Supreme Court of Canada in Ottawa for the first time in history. The submission of these documents represents the next step in the Mothers’ investigation into unmarked graves and clandestine mass burials of Indigenous women and girls on McGill campus at the former Royal Victoria Hospital and Allan Memorial Psychiatric Institute, in so-called Montreal.
At this historic moment, traditional Kanien’kehá:ka legal documents will be submitted and Kanien’kehá:ka Kahnistensera protocols adhered to in the form of presenting wampum belts. Come and show your solidarity with the Kahnistensera in their pursuit of justice for their missing relatives at this press conference with independent special interlocutor Kimberley Murray.
