About the film:
Logging Algonquin is a 30 minute documentary film by Conor Devries that looks at the historical and on-going logging happening in Algonquin Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada, on the traditional and unceded territory of Algonquin Nations. The film asks the question:
‘Does logging belong in a modern day Park?’
While short in length, the film dives into numerous topics around the issue and manages to relate the logging in Algonquin Park with the broader environmental condition in Ontario and across the globe. For more information on the film and watch the trailer go to www.loggingalgonquinfilm.com
The screening will be followed by a discussion panel and Q&A to delve deeper into the topic with emphasis on Indigenous Algonquin perspectives, paradigms and worldviews.
